Make this capsicum curry with any kind of bell peppers like green, red or yellow. Here I am taking only green bell pepper(capsicum), If you mix of all 3 types of bell peppers is also good taste.
I uploaded the recipe with step by step with images, Let’s start!
How to Make Capsicum Curry
1. Roast 1 tablespoon peanuts till lightly golden color, later reduce the heat. Take a blender jar , add roasted peanuts, dry coconut ,tomatoes, ginger and garlic, 1 cinnamon stick, 2 cardamom(Elachi), 2 cloves and make it a smooth paste . Because we prefer the gravy smooth curry so i pureed everything.
2. Here, I am taking 500grms green capsicum. Cut the capsicum into medium size pieces. we required ingredients like
Ingredients for Tempering
a. 500 grams of green Capsicum
b. mustard seeds
c. cumin/jeera seeds
d. curry leaves
e. 2 red chilis
f. 0nions
g. turmeric
3. Take a pan and switch ON the stove ,heat 2 tablespoon oil in that pan. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, red chilis, curry leaves , when they begin to splutter add onions and mix it well and the last add the capsicum pieces and turmeric powder
4. Covered the pan and keep it for 3 to 4 mins. Now transfer the paste from the jar. Be careful, it will begin to splash, so better to keep 1/4 cup of water ready and pour it immediately. Mix it well and keep it in simmer for 2 mins.
5. Add the red chili powder as per your taste but I added 2teaspoon , add 1 teaspoon coriander powder or garam masala and . Saute till you begin to smell good, for 2 to 3 mins or till the mixture begins to leave oil.
6. Add the water to get the desired consistency and add the salt as per your taste. Mix every thing well and bring it to a boil, Cook covered till the capsicum is partially cooked yet crunchy.
7. Now turn OFF the flame and your Capsicum Masala Curry is ready.
Serve the capsicum curry with flavored rice like Jeera rice, pulao, biryani or plain rice and chapati or puri.
